Try Divers
During the boat journey to Kalithea you will receive a fun and informative dive briefing and be put into a dive group. During the dives you will have the Waterhoppers crew with you all the time, they will adjust your equipment for you and ensure that you are comfortable in the water, all you need to do is enjoy the amazing underwater world of Kalithea. The first dive is around 20 minutes long and to a depth of 5 meters, the second dive is a little longer and deeper.
The minimum age for diving is 8 years. Children aged 8 and 9 years join with the try diver groups, diving the same route and for the same amount of time but they dive one to one with a Divemaster and are restricted to a maximum depth of 2 meters.
During your first dive you will be photographed and will have the option to buy the photos so please bring some extra money with you.
Qualified Divers
The Waterhoppers Diving School welcomes divers from all qualification agencies.
Qualified divers must bring their certification card with them. We can check the qualification of PADI divers online.
Kalithea Bay is famous for its underwater caverns and unusual rock formations. The caverns are very open and easily accessible, home to a wide variety of Mediterranean sponges and soft corals. A topography including caverns, rock overhangs, sea grass and sand provides a huge diversity of Mediterranean sea life. Add to this the gradual change in the salinity of the Mediterranean, bringing with it many fish from the red sea, and you have a dive to remember.
Snorkelers
Snorkelling is easy and a whole lot of fun. On the boat trip to the snorkelling site clients receive a brief theory lesson and orientation. Clients are also given mask, snorkel and fins for their use during the day.
We have a number of options available to snorkelers throughout the day, including a lesson for those who have never snorkelled before, fish identification and tour to a cave. Clients are welcome to participate in one or all of them, or may prefer to explore the bay on their own, the choice is theirs.
Snorkelling vests are available for poor swimmers, however please be advised that non-swimmers will not be able to participate in this programme.
Children of all ages are welcome, parents will be expected to accompany their children in the water.
